High Timber Ranch
High Timber Ranch is the newest of the Moonridge neighborhoods, bordered by Moonridge proper on the west and north, and the outskirts of Sugaloaf and the National Forest on the east and south. Originally marketed by Tim Wood of Coldwell Banker, the area offers upscale mountain living in custom homes, in a beautiful treed setting.
Oak trees predominate in High Timber, with a liberal sprinkling of pines and ironwood. Most properties in the area embrace the natural landscaping or offer fine examples of low maintenance/low impact Xeriscape design. Parcels range from slight upslope/downslope to level, and most are ½ acre in size.
All homes in High Timber have been custom-built – by some of Big Bear’s best builders. There’s an abundance of log-style and full-log homes, ranging from a minimum of 1,600 sq. ft. to several thousand square foot masterpieces of design. Other homes are fine examples of Craftsman, Traditional, and Contemporary architecture.
High Timber offers a real sense of “being away from it all,” with its peaceful low-traffic setting and wide paved and curbed streets. Utilities are underground for a clean streetscape and uninterrupted treed views stretching all the way to Gold Mountain on the north shore.
From a High Timber home it’s just minutes to the Bear Mtn. winter resort and golf course, making it an ideal location for the recreation-minded family, or corporate getaway. A few more minutes in the car will find you at the main shopping areas, the lake itself, or the Big Bear Village with its assortment of quaint shops and restaurants.
If you want to build your own Big Bear Dream, there are a limited number of undeveloped parcels still available. The area is serviced by Southwest Gas, Bear Valley Electric, and the Big Bear City Community Services District.
High Timber offers upscale living in a peaceful mountain environment, and may just be the place for you!
