Big Bear Lake Antique Car Show

Most of the roads leading into this mountain community are known for their steep, tight curves. Highway 18 from Lucerne Valley has notorious hair pins. Driving these mountain roads in an antique car can be both challenging and exciting.

The Antique Car Club is expected in Big Bear next month. Their event is from August 12th through the 14th. Located in the Village of Big Bear Lake, the event is not to be missed. We suggest that you park in one of the public parking lots to the south of Village Drive. Plan on arriving early before the free spaces fill up.

Big Bear Lake Annual Event

A quick stop into Sugar Pine Bakery near the northwest corner of Pine Knot and Village Drive will set you up with a breakfast treat. These transplanted New England caterers have the best pastries in Big Bear Lake. Back out on the street and you will find fantastic cars lining both sides. Stroll down Pine Knot Avenue first and then head over to the main show at the Big Bear Lake Visitor’s Center.

The Bartlett Parking Lot will be filled with wonderful old cars to see. For us, the best car last year was a vintage Thunderbird. Got questions? Usually the owners are there and happy to talk about their “babies.”

Not For Mountain Roads

The Antique Car Club’s Fun Run takes place Friday August 12th through Sunday August 14th.The Fun Run features a car show with nearly 500 cars – roadsters, classics, antiques and hot rods, lining the streets of Big Bear Village. There will be Vendors, a Fun Run drive around the lake, a Sock Hop and BBQ on Saturday night. For more information call, 909-866-3938 or visit www.antiquecarclub.org
