Recent Sales Numbers Around the Big Bear Valley Area

We're halfway through 2009 so I figured it would be helpful to give you an update on the activity over the first two quarters of the year.  I've broken down some data for the different areas of Big Bear and here's what stands out in my opinion. Big Bear Home Sales – March & First Quarter 2009

Big Bear Home Sales After a big jump the first two months of 2009, home sales in Big Bear for March 2009 (54) slowed down a bit.  Sales were up just 10% as compared to March 2008 (49), but were down 5% from the Feb. 2009 home sales (57). Year to date though, sales are are still up 44% from 2008 (164 vs. 113). 28, or 52%, of the 54 home sales in Big Bear were bank owned and 5, or 9%, were short sales. I've mentioned it here before, the lakefront real estate market in Big Bear is unique.  So, when you talk about real estate in Big Bear, the lakefront market is a whole different conversation, as it should be. Castle Glen Sales Hitting High Numbers Early in 2008

While there are not many homes sales in the Castle Glen area to report on so far in 2008, the two that have sold are record highs for this Big Bear area. The two closed sales were both sold for $1,900,000. The previous record high was $1,775,000 back in August 2005.
