“Fawnskin” is the general designation for the residential and commercial settlement located on the north shore of Big Bear Lake.  The area known as Fawnskin occupies both sides of State Hwy 38 from the Big Bear dam to Stanfield Cutoff, and the highway is better known as “North Shore Drive” to locals.  Fawnskin is bordered on the north by the National Forest, and on the south by North Shore Drive and/or the lake itself.
